Earlier today a colleague at work passed a link to a video that reminded me of the risks of a small kitchen fire caused by a pot of burning oil. Please take note of the 4 steps to control and then extinguish the fire and remember don't try and move the pot or throw water on the fire!

Maintenance Essentials has now become an Accredited Installer of the Firefly Plus range of Cavity Fire Barriers. Firefly Plus is designed to act as a barrier from flame and smoke, and insulate the cold face from heat.

This lightweight flexible barrier is quick to install, typically within the existing roof space and above suspended ceilings. Its use is primarily for smaller cavity spaces where the implementation of fire rated plasterboard and access is limited.
